  • Attendee Networking Tool Purpose:

On July 12–14, 2016, the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE’s) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) will host its ninth annual conference—Bioenergy 2016: Mobilizing the Bioeconomy through Innovation. BETO frequently hears from stakeholders in the biomass industry that networking is essential to identifying new partners for collaboration. In order to facilitate participant networking at Bioenergy 2016, BETO is developing an Attendee Networking Tool. To develop a tool beneficial to you, the attendee, BETO is requesting additional background information over the typical registration process. This tool will give fellow attendees a background of each other, and BETO will only use it for its intended purpose.

Each year, approximately 600 participants attend the conference, including key stakeholders from the bioenergy industry, Congress, national laboratories, academia, and the financial community.

Attendees will discuss critical bioenergy issues such as:

    • Innovation and emerging pathways
    • The vision for a national bioeconomy
    • Feedstocks forecasting and supply analysis
    • Marketplace Exploration
    • Strategic public engagement
  •  -

  • Submitting this information is strictly voluntary. By doing so, you are giving BETO your permission to use the information for the intended purpose. If you do not want to give BETO permission to use your information, simply do not provide it.

The Attendee Networking Tool will use the information provided to create a sortable, searchable table of participants.  This tool will offer a concise listing of participants' background, areas of expertise, areas of need, and business contact information. Participants will have the ability to sort the information and to filter by keywords in order to find individuals with skill sets complementary to their own. (Note: due to privacy restrictions the name and contact information fields are not searchable).

To make the Attendee Networking Tool as useful as possible, BETO encourages participants to promote their own background and expertise as well as note gaps that others may fill. BETO's goal is to foster networking and facilitate conversations that can lead to collaboration, and hopefully, innovation.

This tool will be publically available on a webpage on the Department of Energy website (http://energy.gov) and a link will be provided to Bioenergy 2016 participants. Do not include sensitive or confidential business information. To correct, update or delete information in the published table, please contact BETONetworkingTool@energetics.com. The Attendee Networking Tool will be available approximately two weeks before Bioenergy 2016 and two weeks afterward.
