Empty water from pump and operate all discharge valve handles 10 times each. If the valve is stiff, it may need some dry lubricaton on handle rod or valve gear inside pump housing.

Remove all intake caps from pump. Clean all lime and rust deposits from inside intake valves. Lubricate all inside components and place onto pump. Work the valves several times making sure the valve is closing completely.

Pull handle or push button for the primer. The primer should make normal sounds if working. Check the primer oil (Prime Safe Only). The Pierce truck (19-08) has an oil-less primer.

Turn the pump and apparatus off. Pull all discharge drains and remove all discharge caps. Dry caps and spray dry silicone on all discharge threads. DO NOT TIGHTEN CAPS WITH A WRENCH. Hand tighten only. Shut all discharge drains after water is drained.
