The current effective semester(s) for submitting overrides is/are: Summer and Fall 2024
Overrides for other semesters should be discussed directly with the instructor of the course or with your academic adviser as appropriate.
A request may only pertain to one semester. Requests for multiple semesters must be submitted separately.
What is an override? An official exception to a registration rule. Think of it as a permission slip or a waiver for a specific registration rule. For example, a "size" override would permit you to register for a class that has no available spots according to eServices. Each rule is independent, so an override for one rule doesn't affect any other rules for the course. For example, the "size" override doesn't change the prerequisites for a course - those must still be met or a separate override is required.
So this form will grant me an override? This form is to request an override. It does not guarantee that you will be granted one. All overrides are subject to approval by Biology Advising and/or the primary instructor. You'll be notified when the request is approved or denied.
What can't I request an override for? Your maximum credit limit, and your registration period cannot be changed via override. Further, certain courses and overrides are invalid through this form. You will be given further instructions if you request something invalid.
If you have a hold on your student account in eServices, you will not be able to register for classes even with an override.
An override does not enroll a student in a class nor require a student to enroll in a class. If you have been granted an override, it is still your responsibility to register by the registration deadline if that is your decision.
