2017 Bosch Sustainability Fellowship Program Application Form
This is a College of Engineering fellowship opportunity for incoming domestic first year full-time Master's students.
Deadline: July 7, 2017
Eligibility Criteria and Selection of Award Recipient:
1) U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents only.
2) Incoming (first year) full-time/on-campus master’s students (admitted Fall 2017).
3) Applicants should be performing or have an interest in interdisciplinary/collaborative research that links sustainable energy engineering to applications of societal importance including, but not limited to the following areas:
- Energy conversion (i.e. solar, wind, combustion, thermo-electric)
- Energy storage systems for transportation and electric utilities through thermal, chemical, mechanical or other means
- Energy usage efficiency for the built environment and transportation (i.e. microgrids, cooling and lighting, electrification)
Application Process (required materials for fellowship consideration):
1) Submit this online fellowship application form.
2) Provide U-M Graduate School Admissions Application (including letters of recommendations, transcripts, and CV/resume). Upon submission of your Bosch Fellowship Application Form, the Office of Graduate Education will obtain your admissions application on file.
Award and Responsibilities:
1) This fellowship offers a $20,000 financial award ($10,000 for the Fall 2017 term, and $10,000 for the Winter 2018 term). Funding is subject to satisfactory academic performance.
2) This fellowship requires a strong interest in sustainability but does not require nor assign students to a faculty lab or project.
3) The award recipient will be asked to:
- Provide a profile for Robert Bosch, LCC.
- Provide a written summary of continued interest in sustainability when the fellowship is complete.
- Participate in some community outreach and volunteerism programs in alignment with Bosch Corporate initiatives.
- Consider Bosch summer internship opportunities.
