The Carrie Myers scholarship fund exists because of donations from members and friends of Friendly Temple M. B. Church and Robert Fulton Development, Inc. The committee is determined to be fair and equitable in the distribution of these funds.
Graduating high school seniors and first time applicants have priority. Funds are made available 45 days after the deadline to returning college students. Scholarship funds are renewable.
All scholarship applicants must be active participants of the Youth or other ministries of the church and submit the following materials on or before the deadline:
NOTE: INFORMATION IS CONFIDENTIAL
- A typed, complete, thoroughly typed application (no items left blank)
- A typed, personal statement from the applicant explaining educational goals, personal aspirations, involvement in FTMBC youth ministry or other service, the need for assistance and detailing other steps taken to meet that need (300 – 400 words)
- A recent transcript
- Official proof of registration (i.e., upcoming semester’s course schedule or acceptance letter)
- Fees to be paid
- A signed letter of recommendation from a member of Friendly Temple who is familiar with the applicant’s involvement in the church (relatives excluded). Letter of recommendation must show church or ministry involvement.
The selection process will begin upon receipt of all materials. The committee will not review incomplete or late applications. Scholarships will be awarded in increments of $200, $300, and $500. The scholarship may not exceed $500. Award amount will be based on ministry/church involvement, application detail, and GPA.
NOTE: All applicants must apply online at www.friendlytemple.org. All supporting documents (i.e. personal statement, recent transcript, proof of registration, fee schedule and signed letter of recommendation by a FTMBC member) must be emailed to RFDSCHOLARSHIPS@gmail.com by the deadline.
