Mentor Candidates--Ideally, individuals still living in their home or an apartment who could use some extra help in order to keep up with home responsibilities, and who are still mentally capable of making new relationships are best suited to serve as mentors. If students are placed in skilled nursing or assisted living facilities, student supervisors must ensure that meaninful one-on-one relationships are still able to be developed.
When filling out the following fields, refer to the data for your school's last year's ASSIST program (if applicable); i.e. how much of the grant your school used, how many students participated, etc.
Please make sure that the data below reflect realistic expectations. This year we will be enforcing our "Grant Tiers"--if your "Student labor total" (below) is below $30,000, Southern Adventist University will provide 80% of the total and your school will be responsible for 20%. If your "Student labor total" is above $30,000, Southern Adventist University will provide 70% of the total and your school will be responsible for 30%.
Please make sure the below numbers are realistic so that your school will not be repsponsible for more fundraising than necessary.
