Dollar Bank and the Department of History have established an ongoing archival internship. The Bank's professional archivist will serve as the internship director, determine each internship's specific duties, and provide on-site direction.
Dollar Bank will provide $2,000 compensation for each intern. Previous archival experience or enrollment in PHST 521 is strongly encouraged but not required. This internship is located in the Strip District.
The Dollar Bank internship will comply with the requirement of 125 hours of work over the course of each semester (approximately eight hours per week) and will focus on a specific project to be completed by that student. Student interns will maintain logs of their hours during the internship and write an evaluative essay summarizing their internship experience. The Bank's representative(s) will complete an Internship Director Exit Survey for each internship. Copies of all materials will be deposited with Dollar Bank and the Department of History. The intern may also deliver a public presentation at the Bank's historic branch on Fourth Avenue as part of the Dollar Bank-Duquesne Pittsburgh Speaker Series or another event.
Please note that this internship may become remote at any point, depending on university policies related to COVID-19. The History Department will work with Dollar Bank to modify responsibilities.
