Estimates and Payment Methods:
1. We have a minimum time of 2 hours for the Chicagoland area and 2.5 hours for suburban area. Anything above the minimum will be prorated in 15 minute increments.
2. Remember an ESTIMATE is not binding; it is only a general idea of what charges will be, under normal conditions, for the service ordered. Your actual costs can be lower or higher because your bill will be based on the actual service performed -- that is, how long your move takes, what is moved, the distance involved, and the number of workers and hours the job takes.
3. If your estimate was done over the phone make sure you provided an accurate inventory list, we cannot be held responsible for an estimate done with an insufficient inventory list. You will be responsible for paying for your full move, even if it is over our estimate.
4. Payment is to be in the form of Cash, Certified Check, or Money order and payment must be given to the movers upon completion of your move. Sorry, no personal checks. We accept most major Credit cards. A 3% credit card processing fee will be added to the total for all credit card transactions with the exception ,of American express which carries a 4% fee. This fee is not factored into the estimate, it is accessed at the time of payment based on final total charges.
Scheduling:
5. Afternoon and evening moves are dependent on morning crews.
6. Please be available at least two hours prior to and after your scheduled moving time (this applies mainly to afternoon and evening moves).
7. The start time on your agreement is an estimated time. No discounts for late arrival.
Preparedness:
8. Please make sure you are packed and ready when the movers arrive (unless your contract includes packing). Extra charges may apply if you are not prepared to move. (This does not apply to your hanging clothes; we will use our wardrobe boxes).
9. It is necessary to empty dresser drawers, and remove all fragile items and liquids. Open liquids should not be shipped, as they can leak and cause damage.
10. Please arrange to have all your major appliances disconnected and serviced before your moving date. (we are unable to connect or disconnect them)
11. Please do not forget to schedule elevator times if you live in an elevator building.
12. If The Professionals Moving Specialists finds out upon finishing the loading of the truck with your possessions that they cannot do the unloading immediately upon arrival to your new residence, extra charges may apply.
13. We have no problem with a time lapse between loading and unloading or with packing your home as long as it has been agreed upon in advance to allow us to arrange our schedule in accordance.
14. Please keep us informed of any changes on your inventory list and box count. This is how we determine the truck size assigned for your move.
15. Please do not forget to let us know, if you require a parking permit. Requests for permits must be made at least 7 business days ahead of your scheduled move date. There is a $30 fee, for each permit requested (per location).
16. Please read the insurance information carefully and make sure you understand its content.
Furniture & Packing Care:
17. If you choose not to have your sofa(s), mattress(es), or other upholstered items shrink wrapped, The Professionals Moving Specialists cannot be held responsible for any damages to these items.
18. The Professionals Moving Specialists will not be held responsible for damages to items the CLIENT chooses to not have padded and/or shrink wrapped.
19. If you own an entertainment center or any other furniture made of pressed wood, The Professionals Moving Specialists is not liable for any damage that occurs to these pieces of furniture. Furniture of this nature is not made to be moved and "survive" the move. (Even if it has been moved successfully in the past, unfortunately with furniture of this nature, you never know when it gives out).
Cancellations:
We understand that things can change. As a courtesy, please notify us 72 hours ahead of time if you need to cancel or reschedule your move. (There is no cancellation / rescheduling Fee.)
