If you wish to transfer out of ITU to another U.S. institution, you must complete this form and upload proof of acceptance to the new school. After receiving these documents the ISSS office will update your record in SEVIS as a “transfer out” student.
Students on Post/STEM OPT can be released at any time during OPT or within the 60 days grace period after the ending date of Post/STEM OPT, as indicated on your EAD.
Please be advised that once your SEVIS release date is reached you are no longer eligible to continue working. Your new school can only issue your new I-20 after the SEVIS release date.
Please note: Students must begin classes at the transfer-in school or program within 5 months of transferring out of the current school or within 5 months of the program completion date on his or her current Form I-20, whichever is earlier.
In the case of an F-1 student authorized to engage in post-completion optional practical training (OPT), the student must be able resume classes within 5 months of transferring out of the school that recommended OPT or the date the OPT authorization ends, whichever is earlier. 8 CFR 214.2(f)(8)(i)
