Wait times/delays may cause us to cancel your ceremony without a refund. Comunication is key.
CHANGE OF DATE OR VENUE
John Barker of North Texas Weddings must be notified immediately of any changes in schedule or location, at least one week prior to the scheduled date of event. Notification of any changes can be made by phone along with written notice sent via email for documentation. If an email is sent, a confirmation of receipt must be in writing. It is the client’s responsibility to confirm all arrangements at least 7-10 days prior to the event. In the event of change of address or contact information (time, etc.) as listed, you must notify John Barker.
RETAINER
A non-refundable retainer of $75.00 is required to hold the date of your event. No date is reserved until the retainer is received. The balance of the complete package price must be paid one month prior to the event date. If final payment is not received as set forth herein, John Barker reserves the right to withhold delivery of the license to the county and or cancel your ceremony until payment is received. Upon clients signature and payment of retainer, John Barker agrees to reserve the date and time specified. The retainer is applied towards the final contracted wedding ceremony package.
CANCELLATION
If the event is cancelled within one month of the date, the client shall pay the balance of the contract due to the high probability that John Barker will not be able to further book that date. Any other arrangements shall be discussed between the client and John Barker. All arrangements will be put in writing. Cancellation must be in writing even if a phone call was made to inform John Berker of the cancellation. The Retainer will be transferable up to 90 days after cancellation. The client agrees to not expect a new date to automatically be available. The client will be given the chance to reschedule but cannot be pushed ahead of other reserved clients.
UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES CLAUSE
If John Barker or its assigns, cannot perform this agreement due to a fire, casualty, strike or other civil disturbances, Acts of God, including but not limited to, road closures, severe traffic, fire, terrorism or other causes beyond the control of the parties, or due to the Officiates illness, then John Barker will make every reasonable effort to obtain a replacement officiate for the location and the times agreeded upon. If this option is not availabilie, any moneys paid by the client, less expenses, will be refunded, but shall have no further liability with respect to the agreement. This limitation of liability shall also apply in the event that license documentation is lost, stolen including in transit by mail or courier service or otherwise lost or damaged without the fault on the part of John Barker.
WEDDING COORDINATOR/EVENT GUIDE:
If the ceremony or reception provides a "COORDINATOR/ EVENT GUIDE", the client is responsible for communicating all, day of, information. Including, but not limited to: time line, itinerary, schedules, etc.; with John Barker prior to the wedding day.
PERMISSIONS
It is the clients’ responsibility to schedule and receive permission to use locations/venues for the wedding ceremony. Should a location require a payment, this payment will be paid by the clients.
COPYRIGHTS
All ceremonies created by John Barker are copyright protected. The client may request a copy of the ceremony for their personal use and enjoyment.
SUBSTITUTION
In the event of illness or sudden event out of the control of both parties, John Barker will attempt to substitute an officate at no additional cost to client. This contract will be transferable to said officiate.
TERMS/CONDITIONS
The most up to date contract will immediately apply to any client that has already signed.
THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED, READ, AND
UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT’S CONTENTS.
Permission is hereby granted to John Barker to use any images created leading up to, during and after the ceremony for displays, internet website pages, advertising, exhibitions, social media.
