Confidentiality is critically important for People Spread Love. When People Spread Love accepts "Love Requests" from our website or in-person, we often work with information that was divulged to a friend or family member and then relayed to us through that well-intentioned person's request. We present the following agreement to guide those volunteering with People Spread Love to do so with integrity. All personal information is presumed confidential.
People Spread Love will only succeed if there is trust between individuals that submit the requests, the recipients, volunteers, and staff members. The members of our communities will only trust in People Spread Love when he/she knows that the information shared with our organization is held in strict confidence.
The volunteer will keep all information in strict confidence according to the principles stated below:
- All information shared, such as a "love request" is confidential and should be treated as such. There shall be no discussion with any person regarding the love requests except where noted below.
- All data collected as a result of serving as a volunteer is the property of People Spread Love and may not be used for any reason outside of the function of People Spread Love and love fulfillment (personal email addresses, contacts, addresses, etc.).
- The following exceptions to confidentiality apply. In such case, Love Ambassador (Heather DeVine by phone 307-264-0188 or email: heather@peoplespreadlove.com) is to be informed immediately:
- Child or elder abuse-either expressed or implied
- Physical or psychological harm-expressed or implied
- Suicide threat or threat of someone close to that person
By acknowledging understanding the above principles, the volunteer member indicates that immediate removal from the People Spread Love team is the consequences for broken confidentiality.
