Stepping Stone Pediatrics provides comprehensive primary and preventive care. That means you should call us first when you have a health care question or problem so we can help you to figure out the best way to address your child’s needs. Think of us as your child’s trusted health advisor – there to listen to you, care for you, and help you navigate the healthcare system as a whole.
Health and Wellness
Your child’s Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider offers preventive visits as well as lifestyle and wellness coaching. All well child checkups recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics is included in your child’s membership. Your child’s visits may include extended consultations and personalized discussion of your child’s development and coaching to create positive lifestyle changes such as weight loss, behavior or school concerns management and stress management.
Chronic Condition Management
Stepping Stone Pediatrics is a great way to manage chronic conditions such as ADHD, obesity, asthma, and many others. Your child’s provider will take the time to understand your child’s situation, empower you to manage your child’s own health, and keep you up to date with the most current national care guidelines. If your child’s condition is unstable or complicated to the point where a specialist’s care is needed, your child’s Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider will refer you to a qualified provider who will assist in your child’s care.
Specialist Care Coordination
Should you need to see a specialist, your child’s Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider will coordinate your child’s referral, communicate with your child’s specialist, and work with you to make decisions about and follow through with your child’s care plan. If you wish to see a specialist, please make sure to communicate with your child’s Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider first so that we can help you find the best care and make sure your child’s care is appropriately coordinated.
We provide same or next-day care for urgent medical issues such as colds, ear infections, sprains, respiratory illnesses, cuts, urinary tract infections, fractures, and more. For your child’s convenience, we have a list of near-site x-rays that are open and available. If you are not sure whether your child’s condition is something we can take care of at Stepping Stone Pediatrics, give us a call and we will help direct you to the best place to get it addressed.
Hospital and Emergency Room Visit Coordination
In the case of serious illness requiring emergency or hospital care, your child’s Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider will communicate with the hospital, send over any relevant records, and coordinate your child’s care during and after discharge. If you have a serious emergency requiring immediate medical attention, call 911 and then either call Stepping Stone Pediatrics or have the hospital personnel call us to let us know so we can participate in your child’s care. Our providers coordinate hospital and emergency care remotely, working with other doctors and care providers over the phone and touching base with you and/or your child’s family members. We do not provide direct, bedside care and coordination because we feel specialty care is best left to the specialists.
Stepping Stone Pediatrics offers some basic onsite laboratory testing at no additional charge (such as pregnancy testing, strep throat testing, urinalysis, and others). For all other tests, Stepping Stone Pediatrics sends samples to our partner reference laboratories for processing. If you would like to use your child’s insurance to pay for your child’s tests, we will forward your child’s information to the laboratory to be billed directly to your child’s plan. All testing and any associated costs will be discussed with you prior to ordering and processing those tests.
Office Procedures and Supplies
Stepping Stone Pediatrics providers perform a number of in-office procedures glue skin closures, wound care, splinting, and more, all included in your child’s membership. If needed, we can also provide you with a selection of supplies (such as splints, bandages, etc) at no additional cost. Samples obtained from any procedures or tests (such as urine or strep tests) may need to be sent to the laboratory for further analysis, which will be charged according to our laboratory test procedures (see above).
Medications and Prescriptions
Stepping Stone Pediatrics uses electronic prescribing for all non-controlled medications. Prescriptions can be sent to the pharmacy of your child’s choice. All controlled substance medications prescriptions will be provided on a tamper-proof prescription pad.
We carry the most common childhood and adult vaccines, including the flu vaccine when in season. In Washington State, all children’s vaccines are provided free of charge. We provide all vaccines up to age 19 for children. Talk with your child’s Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider if you are planning a trip out of the country so that they can advise you on proper preparation for travel.
Stepping Stone Pediatrics does not provide maternity/prenatal care, specialist care, advanced imaging, emergency services, or complementary and alternative care such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, or naturopathy. We are informed on evidence based complementary and alternative medicine, and can discuss what may be appropriate for your child. If you would like a service we do not provide, we will be pleased to help you find the best source for these types of care as needed.

1 subscriber: 49.99/month
Each additional subscriber in a family will receive 10% off their total monthly dues.
Example: 1 child $49.99/month and 2nd child at 44.99/month
