    The only marsh turtle that lives in New England. Use this form to report live, injured or dead terrapins that you observed in the southcoast area of Massachusetts.

  • Note: Please enter the GPS coordinates if you know them. If you did not record the coordinates for the sighting location, you can provide an estimated location by using Google Maps or Google Earth.

    For Google Earth, place the cursor where you saw the terrapin and read the latitude and longitude indicated on the bottom right of the window.

    For Google Maps, double-click on the map where you saw the terrapin and a dialog box should pop-up with the latitude and longtiude

    To convert latitude and longitude positions into decimal degrees, go to the Earth Point website for a free and easy conversion software. 

  • If the terrapin is injured, please call the rescue number for the Southcoast Terrapin Project at 508-566-0009.
