BBYO strives to ensure that any teen who wants to be at our programs can join us. The cost of our programs has had to vary recently because of inflation. Unfortunately, the costs of busing, venues, and catering have increased drastically in recent months.
We always try to do everything we can to ensure that the cost of programs, especially conventions, is accessible for our members. As always, we offer scholarships to help offset some of the costs for these programs.
We never want finances to be a barrier to a teen's participation. We recognize that high levels of participation in BBYO can often be expensive, and therefore designate scholarship funds that members can apply to receive to help them attend.
Each person requesting scholarship funds from BBYO Ontario must be a member in good standing. Financial aid is only available to offset the cost of BBYO programs; it cannot be used for non-BBYO activities. We expect that scholarship recipients will bring back valuable skills and knowledge to their chapter after they attend programs, and expect them to remain active and positively involved.
You can request up to 25% of the cost without providing any income information or tax forms. To request more than 25% of the cost you will need to provide income information and your Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment.
Applicants will be notified by email of the amount awarded once applications have been reveiwed. Members needing additional funds beyond the awarded assistance should contact your local staff member. Families requesting financial aid should not discuss their requests or their awards received with others. Doing so may jeopardize future scholarship eligibility.
All scholarship requests are completely confidential. If you have any questions please contact BBYO Ontario at info@bbyo.ca or 416.398.2004.
All information gathered in this form is transmitted through a secure link, will be kept strictly confidential and is held in a password protected database with limited staff access.
