  • BBYO Host Guidelines & Contract

  • BBYO Ontario is responsible for the health and safety of the participants at approved programs between the published start and end times. Thus, during the specified timeframe, participants must be under the supervision of BBYO Ontario professional staff or staff-approved volunteers (advisors/parents/other).

    There are no instances where teens may meet for a program without supervision by professional staff or staff-approved volunteers.

    I agree to abide by the following guidelines for hosting events:

    • I agree that all BBYO Programs must adhere to the BBYO Code of Conduct.
    • I agree to contact the chapter advisor or a BBYO employee with any questions regarding hosting expectations.
    • I agree to notify a BBYO employee or the chapter advisor immediately in the event of any incident involving damage to property, injury to a person, unwelcome physical contact, etc.
    • I agree to make sure that all firearms, alcohol, tobacco products and medication are secured from and cannot be accessed by participants.
    • If this is an overnight program, I agree to the following additional guidelines: (i) Participants may not leave during the designated sleep time; (ii) Participants not staying overnight must depart by midnight and; (iii) I agree to collect and hold, for the duration of the overnight event, the car keys of all participants who drive to the overnight event.

  • I agree to abide by the following guidelines for chaperoning events:

    • I agree that participants are not permitted to leave and then return to the program without: (i) advance permission from the participant's parent/guardian and; (ii) the on-site notification of the host or chapter advisor. If a teen leaves and returns during an event without these things, I agree to notify the BBYO employee or chapter advisor so that they can contact the participant’s parent(s)/guardian(s).
    • For the safety of participants and out of respect for their parents and guardians, I agree to not consume or use alcohol or drugs for the duration of the program. Tobacco products should only be used out of the presence of participants.
    • I understand that participants gathering to socialize after the published ending time of a BBYO Ontario event are responsible for their own health and safety as specified in the release signed by participants and their parents before being allowed to participate. Therefore if participants are staying after the event, I agree to instruct all those staying to contact their parents to let them know the event is over and that they are staying on their own time.
