Facilitator: Provided by NES Hand Therapy Training. NES teaches specialist knowledge and skills in the field of hand therapy. NES is owned and run by three specialist hand therapists: Nicola Golsmith, Sarah Mee, Elaine Juzi
Aims:
- Demonstrate a knowledge of nerve anatomy
- Demonstrate palpation and surface anatomy of compression sites of the upper limb
- Perform assessment techniques and differential diagnosis testing for WRULD conditions
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the acquired tendon, joint and nerve conditions that relate to WRULD
- Carry out practical sessions and demonstrate the use of treatment modalities relating to WRULD
- Demonstrate a knowledge of WRULD development, legislation, ergonomics and discuss the implications
- Carry out discussions regarding work practice and management and demonstrate the implications for treatment
- To complete a written exam and a take-home project

- Possible causation
- Potential pathologies
- Physical risk factors
- Treatments of WRULDs
- Ergonomics
Course Prerequisites
Attained BAHT level one and have 6 months experience implementing level 1 knowledge
or
Experience working in hand therapy for 2 years or longer
or
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy specialism
