THE TROUPE at The Performer's School
Contract and Rules of Conduct
2016-17
Congratulations on being chosen to be a Member of THE TROUPE at The Performer's School! Upon acceptance of Membership, a signed agreement by you, The Performer, and by a Parent or Guardian signifies a semester-long commitment to weekly Troupe rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and performances. Attendance, behavior, weather, payment and refund policies will apply upon signature and acceptance of this contract and all policies noted below.
POLICIES
Attendance
Attendance at all rehearsals is expected by the student with the exception of two EXCUSED absences per shows (semester) not including tech and performances which are mandatory.
Upon the acceptance of this contract, absences must be provided in writing. Approval of additional conflicts is up to the discretion of the Directors and may result in a lessor role or dismissal from The Troupe. This rule applies to other show commitments, professional work, and other conflicts.
Attendance at Dress Rehearsals and Tech Week
Attendance at TECH and DRESS rehearsals is mandatory. Additional rehearsals may be added and we will do our best to advise the students to provide ample time to adjust schedules.
Tentative dates will be provided on the calendar at the beginning of the term. Please mark your calendars and abide by these requirements.
OTHER SHOW CONFLICTS/PROFESSIONAL WORK CONFLICTS
We create a professional environment for the students to grow and learn. We ask you to make a commitment to the director and other cast members. While we understand you may want to perform in a school or in an outside production, it cannot conflict with this commitment to our group.
Other absences such as illness or family emergency are certainly understandable, and we will review these on a case-by-case basis.
Tech Week & Dress Rehearsals
TECH WEEK & DRESS REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY. ATTENDANCE IS EXPECTED.
Actor Expectations
Memorization of Lines & Blocking, Choreography
When cast in a role, lines and the blocking provided are to be memorized by the deadline
indicated on the rehearsal schedule by the Directors. We will do everything in our power to assist the students, as this is a learning experience.
The best way to learn the show is to be present at rehearsal.
Tickets to Shows
Each Troupe member will be provided 2 comps for a performance per semester. Tickets are $10/each. There will be THREE performances total. Show location and show title will be announced on the first day of class.
Rehearsal School
It is expected that cast members will bring homework/school materials/quiet activities to rehearsals, in the event that the students are not needed for the rehearsal’s entirety. Above all, actors must stay focused.
Water bottles and comfortable clothing must be worn. No flip-flops or open-toed shoes.
Always bring a pencil and notebook and a light, nut-free snack. There are vending machines in the building.
