Guidelines and Criteria
At least 50% of the student learning for the course, either through what is already offered, or through supplemental readings, assignments or projects, should address the areas listed below. That 50% also needs to address at least two of these areas. Please write a paragraph in which you describe how your work for your course will meet these guidelines.
- Exploration of how the construct of gender identity shapes an individual’s or community’s experiences and how writers, artists, scholars, researchers and practitioners represent or respond to those gendered experiences.
- Examination of institutions and structures of power in terms of their implications for people as gendered beings
- Engagement with the established field of women's and gender studies and the body of scholarship it has produced
