The Vice President serves as an executive officer of the Board of Directors and automatically serves a four (4)-year term during which time he or she holds the positions of Vice President, President-Elect, President and Immediate Past President.
Candidates must be able to travel to and attend four (4) annual meetings of the Board of Directors, as well as monthly officer meetings, among other duties. The position requires a flexible schedule which includes the ability to take time off from one’s district or LEA. To be considered for the position, a candidate also must meet the following criteria:
Must be a CASBO individual member* or Honorary Life Member in good standing for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years;
Must have served a minimum of three (3) years in a responsible leadership position, which may include serving as a chair or assistant chair of a committee or council at the state or section level;
Must have demonstrated awareness of and commitment to the association’s goals and objectives as defined in the current strategic plan; and
Must not be retired.
*For purposes of this application process, a “CASBO individual member” is anyone who for the last year was, and now is, a current Career Builder Member or Organizational Subscription Employee Member, and who, for the four (4) years prior to CASBO’s 2017-18 membership restructuring, was a CASBO individual member at the Aspiring Access, Career Accelerator Access, Distinguished Access or Executive Access level.
Interested candidates must complete and submit this application by Friday, October 12, 2018. CASBO will forward the completed applications to the Nominations & Elections Committee. The committee will review all candidates and refer them to the Board of Directors for approval at its October 2018 meeting. If more than one person applies, an electronic election will be held in January 2019. If only one person applies and is certified by the committee, the election shall be by acclamation and the approval of the Board of Directors.
