Residents interested in serving as a volunteer on Broomfield’s Cultural Council are asked to complete this application and submit it to the City Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018. You may attach extra pages to the application if you need additional space in answering the questions below. You may also attach a resume, if you wish. Applicants will receive a confirmation email with a link to schedule an interview online. Interviews will be conducted as needed on one of the evenings of February 22, February 28, and March 1, 2018, with additional evening interview dates as needed. Official appointments will be made at a public meeting of the City Council on March 13 or March 20, 2018.
Meeting Schedule: The Cultural Council generally meets on the 1st Monday monthly at 6:30 p.m., with additional meetings as needed on Tuesday or Saturday. The Cultural Council typically conducts grant interviews the first three Monday evenings in May.
Purpose: Advance the Cultural Master Plan for the development and maintenance of scientific and cultural opportunities in the City; develop an annual funding plan for distribution of Tier III Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) grant funds and city-appropriated Arts Culture and Science grant funds in Broomfield for Council approval; offers workshops and training opportunities to local and regional organizations providing cultural services and programs to Broomfield citizens; serves as a liaison between local scientific and cultural organizations and agencies, the SCFD board of directors and city council.
