VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTIONS
All opportunities require an ability to work with Executive Director and Board.
Program Data Research Analyst – Statistics or math major helpful. Good knowledge of Excel and Word. Attention to detail critical. Accurately input data. Compare data from pre- and post-seasons to other seasons and years. Aggregate data. Look for trends in data. Use analysis to interpret data. Report findings.
Story Liaison - English or journalism major helpful. Ability to create a lively and moving but factual story from facts and information. Ability to convey the essence of the program to the reader to keep him/her interested in and engaged with the organization. Ability to interview coaches, girls and/or family members to gather stories and testimonials.
Media Contact Researcher – Any major. Ability to use internet for research. Good knowledge of Excel and Word. Create, edit, add to an accurate list of Media contacts in Excel. Research websites and calendar listings and requirements for calendar postings. Find society pages, deadlines for submissions, etc. Maintain accurate listings/records.
Social Media Content Producer – Any major. Creativity and understanding of what gets likes, etc. Create content for social media that enhances the brand. Research content ideas. Work with other producers to integrate content.
Survey Monkey Producer – Any major. Ability to use and create surveys in Survey Monkey. Create surveys for past parents, past coaches and other volunteers, current parents.
Researcher for Professional Awards - Any major. Ability to use internet for research. Research awards that apply to the mission of Girls on the Run. Summarize criteria and note any deadlines.
