Annual Report
This form should be submitted by the Chair of each Departmental Research Ethics Committees (DREC) to the STU REB for record-keeping.
St. Thomas University"s
REB Policy
states that if a study is a
teaching exercise
(i.e., part of an undergraduate course and/or Honours project),
is deemed to be
at or below minimal risk
and
does not form part of the supervisor's research
, it must be reviewed by the Departmental Research Ethics Committee on behalf of the REB.
Each Department must report results of such reviews to the REB at the end of the academic year. Student research deemed to be beyond minimal risk, or forms part of a faculty member's research activities, must be reviewed by the REB.
The REB expects that all Departments adhere to the
Tri-Council Policy Statement on Research Ethics
in its review of research activities.
