The Business for the Arts Awards Honorees are exemplary companies that have gone above and beyond to support the arts and creative industries. They make Colorado a better place to live and work through innovative partnerships, arts integration, creative workplaces, economic development in the creative sector, arts advocacy, employee engagement, and/or philanthropy.
The 2020 Business for the Arts Awards Honorees will be announced in December 2019. The cohort of honorees will be celebrated at the annual luncheon on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
Eligibility Criteria
- For-profit business, nonprofit organization or government agency in Colorado
- The focus of the nomination must be outside the entity’s day-to-day business or mission. In the case of a creative business or cultural organization, the focus on the nomination must be above and beyond their regular work in an effort to advance the creative sector
- Examples:
- A technology company that sponsors a local dance festival
- An architecture firm that ensures all projects have an art gallery or studio space
- A government agency that integrates the arts into local infrastructure
- A human services nonprofit engaging in arts therapy
- A concert venue that organizes a musical instrument drive for schools
- An insurance company that starts an artist-in-residence program
- A museum that sponsors scholarships and career development for art students
- A bank that uses theater trainings to build teamwork and creativity among employees
- Cannot have previously won a Business for the Arts Award within the last five years. Past nominees and finalists are encouraged to reapply
- Self-nominations are strongly encouraged
