Expectations of participants:
Financial contribution:
$1250. Participants are responsible for acquiring a passport; Week of Compassion will obtain necessary visas.
Pre-trip:
In conversation with a Disciple theologian, participants will read and study the cultural, local, and ecclesial history of the region and its relationships within the 20th century as well as grounding documents in global missiology.
Post-trip:
All participants will write feature stories for the Week of Compassion weekly e-mails detailing the impact of their experience as well as commit to promoting the work of Week of Compassiona and our partner organizations. Clergy will commit to preach about their experiences and provide an educational opportunity in their congregations or region.
In addition to this online application, submit a letter of recommendation to Rev. Caroline Hamilton-Arnold at caroline@weekofcompassion.org by Friday, Dec. 30, 2016; we will notify participants by the end of January, 2017.
