CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
USHLI is inviting expert speakers, faculty, community leaders and young professionals from corporate, federal and non-profit organizations to submit a workshop proposal for our 35th National Conference to be held February 16-19, in Chicago, IL.
We are looking for a variety of workshops that are representative of all educational, leadership and empowerment topics to ensure that college students walk away with knowledge and ideas that will help them succeed on their career paths, as well as initiatives that they can implement in their own communities. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to academic achievement, electronic age, public policy, health issues, college financial planning, environmental issues, women’s advancement in the corporate world, community empowerment, LGBT, etc.
All workshops should be 75 minutes in total length: 60 minutes for the presentation and 15 minutes for a question/answer session and evaluation.
Presentations need to be in PC compatible format. In the event we encounter technical difficulties, please bring your presentation material in a thumb drive and/or CD formats.
Each presenter is responsible for bringing his/her own laptop, and adapter for Mac Computers.
Workshop Presenters are also responsible for reproduction of handouts, if any.
The committee will provide presenters with a screen and LCD projector to facilitate the presentation.
Proposals deadline: Friday, December 2, 2016 @ 11:59 pm (CST).
Acceptance notification: January 4, 2017
Date of Workshops: Friday, February 17 and/or Saturday, February 18, 2017.
