    Texas Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. This application is for adoption only. Adoption is accepting a rescue dog into your forever home as a permanent family member Adoption is not fostering.

  • NOTICE:

    1. Applicants MUST be over 25 years of age to be considered. This requirement shall be in force on any and all dogs from here forward.

    2. We have policies that have been put into place regarding the age of children either residing in the home or frequently visiting the home. We will not adopt to a family who has children under the age of 10 years old. Nor will we adopt to a person if they have frequent visitors to the home with children in that age room.

    Our dogs are herding dogs and as rescues can be, sometimes they can be unpredictable. They haven’t been surrendered because they are the perfect animal. Sometimes they have quirks that need to be addressed.

    Our goal is to set up the dog and the adoptive family for success. OES are big goofy dogs that will knock over children and sometimes nip at them to try to herd them. We would hate for anything to happen to a child.

  • We adopt to people all over the United States, but we do not transport. We are a foster based rescue that covers not only the state of Texas, but many of the surrounding states too. If chosen to adopt, you must be able to pick up the dog you are adopting. If you are not able to pick up the dog you are adopting then you will not be able to adopt from us.

  • Submission of your application does NOT guarantee that you will be approved to Adopt one of our rescued OES.

    NOTE: If we approve an adoption of an OES who is too young to spay/neuter, placement will be handled as a Foster Home until the OES is old enough to have the surgery. Once proof of surgery is submitted, we will then complete the final Adoption paperwork. Submission of your application does NOT guarantee that you will be approved to adopt one of our rescued OES. By signing this application, you acknowledge that you have read our Terms and Conditions of Adoption (link at the top of this page), that you understand and agree to the Terms, and will abide by our regulations therein.
