Each state requires a license to sell insurance. The cost is typically between $150-$300. Family Heritage offers a licensing reimbursement incentive and will pay you back for any licensing costs after you have sold a certain number of policies, but you are responsible for it up front. You will also need to secure an iPad (which can be a used one). Can you afford the cost of getting licensed and securing an iPad at this time?

The licensing and onboarding process generally takes 3-4 weeks to complete and you can continue working with your current employer during this time. It could be 4-6 weeks from hire to first paycheck. Does this work for your schedule and timetable?
