*Experience level of participants:
We are accepting applications on a rolling basis from advanced level CI dancers. We appreciate the challenge inherent in this kind of self-assessment, and offer the following criteria (from Chris Aiken and Angie Hauser) to help clarify. As an advanced CI dancer, you should be able to:
~Fall safely from any level
~Follow the point of contact
~Move upside down; be comfortable with disorientation
~Be able to modulate the physical tone of your body in relation to your partner and the demands of the dancing
~ Be committed to being emotionally clear and present while dancing
~Accept responsibility for your own safety
It is important to the congruency and the safety of the group that all participants are truly confident at this level of practice. It is also important to note the assumptions of physicality in these criteria. We encourage physically challenged participants who are invested in CI to apply.
Artists are asked to pay $65/day for room, board and tuition. We offer this rate throughout the 7 days and waive the standard Spring Jam tuition. Therefore, the 7-day residency (incl. Spring Jam) would be $455.
To put that cost in perspective, for non-CIGR participants, the 3-day Spring Jam (Thu night 3/16 – Sunday 3/19) alone costs $300-335. Our meals will be prepared for us, and we will only be responsible for clean up after meals, just as we do at the residential jams. This way we can concentrate on our studio work and no one will have to miss any of our sessions together!
Once accepted, the remainder of your payment is due by February 13th, 2017.
