The North Country region is defined as the boundaries of the geographic area that encompasses the current Frontier League and Section 10 member schools. In order for an individual to be nominated to the North Country Sports Hall of Fame, he or she must either be born in the above defined area or graduated from a Frontier League or Section 10 school, or have spent a minimum 8 years in the area defined as "North Country" to be considered. He or she must also meet the following criteria:
1. Is or was an outstanding athlete in high school, college, amateur or professional sports.
2. Is or was a coach, manager, official, or administrator who has made a significant contribution to sports at the high school, college or professional level.
3. Is an individual who is performing or has performed an unusual or distinguished service in fostering, developing or effectively helping a sport to prosper.
