Weighted Lottery Policy
Charter schools are free, open enrollment public schools that are required by the law to serve all students. Charter schools shall be open to all students on a space available basis and shall not discriminate in their admission policies or practices on the basis of intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, special needs, proficiency in the English language, or any other basis that would be illegal if used by a district school. To support the most equitable possible enrollment, M.E.T.S. Charter School offer's a preference of 3:2 in our enrollment lottery to students with disabilities, migrant students, limited English proficient students, neglected or delinquent students, and homeless students.
Any students who provides documentation regarding their belonging to one of the following groups will receive a 3:2 preference in our enrollment lottery, please check where applicable (optional):
