ICLS Proficiency Assessment Registration

Thank you for your interest in a professional language proficiency evaluation through the International Center for Language Studies. This form helps us schedule your language assessment.

The International Center for Language Studies' foreign language proficiency assessments are available to government agencies, employers, and all individuals with the need to have their language skills assessed. Assessments measure proficiency in Speaking, Listening, and/or Reading skills, conducted either in person or online via Zoom. All assessments are conducted by qualified testers, and results are based on the Interagency Language Roundtable Skill Level Descriptions.

Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Speaking Test$275.00

This assessment is designed for individuals who only need their speaking proficiency evaluated. It typically takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Speaking Test (non-OPI format)$275.00

This assessment is designed for individuals who only need their speaking proficiency evaluated. It typically takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Reading Test (online / in-person)$300.00

This assessment is designed for individuals who only need their reading proficiency evaluated. It typically takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Speaking, Listening Test (online / in-person)$350.00

This assessment is designed for individuals who only need their speaking and listening proficiency evaluated. It typically takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.

Speaking, Listening, Reading Test ( online / in-person)$545.00

This assessment is designed for individuals who need all three skills evaluated. It typically takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.

Test Score Appeal: Speaking$150.00

The score review allows examinees to appeal the speaking assessment score, where the score will be reviewed by an independent third-party tester.

Test Score Appeal: Reading$125.00

The score review allows examinees to appeal the reading assessment score, where the score will be reviewed by an independent third-party tester.

Test Score Appeal: Speaking, Listening, Reading$200.00

ICLS conducts language assessments only on weekdays and during normal business hours. Language assessments can not be scheduled on weekends or on national holidays.

Please understand that testing team will do their best to accomodate the dates requested, but we cannot guarantee that the testing schedule will allow for it.

The ICLS Testing Team will make every effort to accommodate your request; however, availability on specific dates and times cannot be guaranteed. We greatly appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

Kindly note that all assessments are conducted exclusively during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST. Testing is not available on weekends or federal holidays.

The use of these resources will terminate the assessment, no score will be provided, and no reimbursement will be issued. If you are testing in-person, ICLS has a safe place to store your electronic device(s) while you test.*

I understand that the proficiency scores given for the assessment are based solely on the language exhibited during the test. The testing team does not consider where examinees have learned the language and take a holistic testing approach. All scores issued by the International Center for Language Studies are valid for two (2) years. Examinees indemnify and hold ICLS harmless for any and all certifications relating to any test results.*

LANGUAGE TEST AGREEMENT The language test will be scheduled once payment is received. You will be contacted within 3-5 days to confirm your language test. In the event ICLS is unable to schedule your test, you will be refunded in full. Once you have been notified of your language test schedule, your confirmation (by email) is expected within 24 hours. In the event that you have to cancel or reschedule prior to the appointment time, a fee of $150 will be charged if these changes happen within 24 hours of the confirmed test date and time. The testing team will wait 10 minutes after the start of the confirmed time. Failure to show up for the language test will be treated as a late cancellation and the test will be charged in full.*

APPEALS: Appeals to scores must be made within five (5) days after test results are sent by the FLD Testing Division. In such cases a second rater will assess and score the test recording for an additional fee. This fee will be reimbursed should the score post review is higher than the original score. ICLS will honor the higher score*
