Manufacturer, serial numbers and model number locations
For Upright Pianos:
Inside the back: Lift the lid and look at the wooden backboard or the cast iron plate, usually between the tuning pins or in the upper section.
Keybed: Check the back edge of the keybed (the wooden part under the keys).
For Grand Pianos:
Under the music rack: Often stamped on the cast iron plate in the V-shaped area between bass and tenor strings or at the treble end.
Soundboard: Look for it stamped on the soundboard, sometimes under the strings or near the manufacturer's trademark.
Inside the body: Inside the piano's case, near the left-hand corners
Model number are short, serial numbers are long generally 5 or more numbers.
