    Each rower is responsible for $100.00 for the equipment fee.

    Equipment fee obligation can be met by Fundraising/getting sponsors for the racing shirts.

    NOTE:  Equipment fee is due by February 17, 2023

    If rower's dues and equipment fee are not paid in full by February 17, your child will not be allowed to participate in practices until payment is made.  

    All Completed Registration Paperwork needs to be submitted by tryouts (February 13) or rowers will not be allowed to participate in practices.

  • CONCUSSION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND SIGNATURE FORM

    FOR PARENTS AND STUDENT ATHLETES
  • IC 20-3-7 "Student Athletes: Concussions and Head Injuries" requires schools to distribute information sheets to inform and educate student athletes and their parents of the nature and risk of concussion and head injury to student athletes, including the risks of continuing to play after concussion or head injury. The law requires that each year, before beginning practice for and interscholastic or intramural sport, a high school student athlete and the student athlete's parent must be given an information sheet, and both must sign and return the form acknowledging receipt of the information to the student athlete's coach. The law further states that a high school athlete who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury in a practice or game, shall be removed from play at the time of injury and may not return to play until the student athlete has received written clearance from a licensed health care provider trained in the evaluation and management of concussions and head injuries, and not less than twenty forur (24) hours have passed since the student athlete was removed from play.

     

    Parent- Please read the attached "Heads Up-Concussion in High School Sports- A Fact Sheet for Parents" and ensure that your student athlete has also received and read "Heads Up-Concussion in High School Sports- A Fact Sheet for Athletes".  After reading these fact sheets, please sign below and ensure that your student athletes also sign the form. Once signed, have your student athlete return this form to his/her coach.

    Team Norms and Expectations

     

    In order for us to function successfully as a unified coherent crew, rowers and parents must agree to certain norms of behavior:

    • NO BULLYING, NO CYBER BULLYING: put-downs, ethnic, sexual or culturally inappropriate comments.
    • Respect for all persons and property.
    • Politeness to all on the team and to everyone you meet
    • Support to all members of the team: varsity or novice members
    • No public displays of affection
    • Adhere to specific rules identified by the coaches. Coaches will promise to investigate thoroughly any known complaints or violations of these general rules. Investigative decisions will be reviewed with the known student(s), parents will be informed of coaches decisions. Consequences to these rules can result in anywhere from a discussion by the coach to removal from the team.
  • For the well-being and safety of the team when traveling, everyone agrees to the following:

    • Rowers are not allowed to drive themselves or others to away regattas without parent permission.
    • ONLY ROWERS AND COACHES are permitted to be at or around the trailer and boathouse during races.
    • Team Curfew for away regattas will be annouced by the coaches.
    • Do not leave your motel/hotel room without direct permission from a parent/chaperone or a coach.
    • Lights out and quiet time must be respected.
    • Athletes need adequate rest for top performance.
    • Parents/chaperones and coaches are entitled to eight hours of sleep!
    • Parents/chaperones take responsibility for ensurng that all athletes are accounted for.
  • Team Participation:

    • All rowers are required to attend all practices, including spring break (unless discussed with coaches before hand).
    • All rowers are expected to be at all regattas unless excused by coaches.
    • All rowers are expected to work together as an efficient and powerful single team.
    • All rowers are expected to follow the protocols by Wappingers Crew Club, Coaches, Regatta Officials and W.C.S.D.
  • *Wappingers Crew Club Team Members Non-Negotionable Items*

    No possession or use of alcohol, marijuana, vaping or illegal drugs 

    No possession of weapons of any kind

    No abuse of legal prescription

    * Any violation of these items, meaning behavior that is disruptive to the team behavior that threatens the safety of self or others will result in the offending athlete(s) being promptly removed from the team, without a refund.
