I understand that I am expected to attend Orientation and a Panel Interview for any Dart-Lo teen staff position.
Successful CA's and Buddy candidates will also be expected to participate in the specific CA training on June 28th to learn about expectations, job functions, evaluations, and program components. CA's and Buddies are encouraged to attend other days of staff training (June 27-30.) to learn about health care, policies, behavior management, outdoor skills, planning etc.
Successful Unit Staff candidiates must attend all staff training dates.
Behavior Expectations of Counselor Assistants (CA's) and Buddies:1.Be patient, understanding and keep your temper. Be free with compliments and encouragement to campers.2.Treat all children with respect and fairness, avoiding favorites. Maintain appropriate conversations, attire and behavior at all times.
3.Discuss group issues with the counselor. Accept and offer suggestions.
4.Help campers do activities. Participate and model when appropriate.
5.Be reliable, punctual and give a weeks' notice if cancellation is necessary.
6.If you ride the bus, assist with camper management and program.
7."Unplug" when at camp. Keep cell phones/electronics in your backpack.
8.If you do not meet expectations, your parents will be contacted and expected to come get you.
I will follow the Behavior Expectations and fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description that will be reviewed during orientation. I understand placement is subject to session need, applicant qualifications and participation in Orientation and Training.
I understand that program acceptance is contigent upon my completion of all necessary application materials including the required WRITTEN (or online submission) of the Youth Reference Tequest and completion of the orientation. I understand that my application may not be considered if it is incomplete.
