Non-Invasive Pre-Natal Paternity Testing

The test cannot be performed in the following cases: less than 7 weeks gestational age, twin or multiple pregnancies, pregnant women suffering from cancer, pre-eclampsia, or who have had a recent blood transfusion, bone marrow or organ transplant, or stem cell therapy.

Paternity testing on prenatal samples is for “peace of mind” and is not admissible in the Family Law Court of Australia.

Testing Kits

Kits are sent via regular post from Brisbane, and can take around 5-7 working days to arrive depending on where you are located. If you would like your kit to reach you sooner, we recommend selecting the 'Express Post' option for an additional $25, per address.

Refund Policy

Please select carefully when choosing your test, as we do not offer refunds simply for change of mind. All parties should agree to testing prior to applying for NIPPT testing as our refund policy applies. Cancelled tests prior to testing kits being issued will incur a $100 admin fee. When testing kits are issued DNAQ will withhold 50% of the purchase cost.
1. The results of this DNA test can be affected by the gestational period, method of sample storage, processing and transportation, mutations in an individual’s DNA and contamination during sample collection. In such cases a re-collection may be required, a refund will not be given.
2. Due to the limitation of the current method, some results may be false positive, false negative or inconclusive. This test is for non-legal purposes only. Confirmatory testing after birth is recommended.
3. I understand that samples collected before 10 weeks gestational age may have a low fetal fraction and may require a recollection, a refund will not be given for any inconclusive results.
4. An inconclusive result may be caused by a number of factors including early/inaccurate gestational age, low fetal fraction and biological factors including poor implantation and early miscarriage. Whilst testing at an earlier gestational age is feasible, this will result in a higher number of inconclusive results and a number of patients will not progress to term, a refund will not be given for any inconclusive results, rather a recollection will be offered.
