University Honors Program Continuing Student Application
This application is for current RMU students. Incoming freshmen students or transfer students should visit honors.rmu.edu for more information on how to apply to the program.
Educational BackgroundCurrent RMU first year students may be nominated by a faculty member to apply. Additionally, all current RMU first year students with at least a 3.5 RMU GPA and between 15 and 30 credits are invited to apply to the honors program in January for the upcoming fall semester.
Personal BackgroundPlease provide a resume that highlights your education, leadership experiences, and activities in which you have participated (e.g. volunteer work, employment, sports, clubs, organization, etc.) including involvement at RMU.
TranscriptPlease attach an unofficial copy of your RMU transcript, including any transfer credits. Attaching a pdf-copy of your checksheet is preferred. To attach a pdf, log into sentry services and click on your checksheet. Hit "print" and change destination from a printer to "Save as a PDF."
Writing SampleThe Honors curriculum cultivates diligent, reflective, and enterprising students who take responsibility for their own education and who challenge beliefs and assumptions about themselves and the world. For the writing sample of your application, give a response of no more than 500 words for one of the two essay prompts:
ReferencesTo complete your application, please include the name and email address of an RMU professor who is familiar with your classwork at RMU. We will contact them to ask them to fill out an evaluation form.
