SANTA CLARA PARADE OF CHAMPIONS ENTRY APPLICATION

    Location:  Santa Clara, California - Downtown area

    Parade Route:  One mile – downtown Santa Clara

    Anticipated Attendance:  10,000

    Parade Theme: Celebrate!

    Parade entries:  Required to be entertaining, creative, and exciting. We welcome bands, floats, drill teams, dance teams, equestrians, comical groups,  military units, etc.  Embrace creativity and thinking outside the box, participants can bring the parade theme to life in engaging and thought-provoking ways, leaving a lasting impression on spectators and helping to create a memorable and meaningful event.

    Judging by:  Northern California Band Association.

    Please read the parade guidelines.  Respond early to be considered for placement in our parade. Parade organizers will approve applicants. Notification of acceptance will be emailed.

    The parade will be a professionally judged contest with over $5,750.00 in total prize money awarded

    Categories include:

    School Marching Bands - 1st: $1,500.00; 2nd: $550.00; 3rd: $250.00

    Community Bands - 1st: $750.00; 2nd: $550.00; 3rd: $250.00

    Drill Teams - 1st: $250.00; 2nd: $150.00; 3rd: $100.00

    Community Float - 1st: $550.00; 2nd: $250.00; 3rd: $100.00

    Dance/Performance Teams - 1st: $250.00; 2nd: $150.00; 3rd: $100.00

    This form is required to apply for parade participation. Organizers will review your entry and may accept or reject it at their discretion. If accepted, information from this application may be used for production, staging, script, and promotional needs. Acceptance notifications will be sent by email.

    Please provide a detailed description of your parade entry (150 words or fewer). Include how the entry will look during the parade, noting any decorations, music, costumes or uniforms, entertainment features, and other unique elements. Also provide a brief overview of the organization submitting the application. If your entry is selected, this information may also be used for the announcer’s script.

  • As an authorized representative of this organization/business and its participating members, I/we hereby understand and agree to accept the risk of bodily injury and/or property damage that I/we may incur or cause a third party to incur as a result of my/our participation in the Santa Clara Parade of Champions.  With this understanding, I/we further agree to indemnify, defend and save harmless the Santa Clara Parade of Champions Committee, the City of Santa Clara, Upbeat Parade Productions, LLC and its elected and appointed officials, board members, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, losses, injuries, suits, and judgments arising from, or in connection with my participation in the parade.  I/we further waive any claims on behalf of my successors, assigns, heirs, executors, and administrators, and any other persons or entities who/which may have a claim based on my/our personal injuries and/or property damage.  I/we also consent to video and photographs to be taken of me for use in future publicity and I understand that I will not receive any compensation for such use. I/we understand the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 in connection with my participation in this event and I personally assume this risk on behalf of our organization. I/we further understand and agree that this saves harmless and indemnification shall apply to and all facilities that the City of Santa Clara may own and/or control. Furthermore, I/we have read and agree to abide by all of the Santa Clara Parade of Champions guidelines and rules, as shown in the pages provided and those to be presented with the participant's information package if my unit is accepted.
