Warren Tracy Beginning Teacher Award
Purpose:
The Warren Tracy Beginning Teacher Award recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of a social studies teacher new to the field of education. Nominees engage students and raise awareness of important social studies issues through meaningful instruction. Nominees are involved with school and community activities. Nominees are instructional leaders in their schools and districts. The recipient will be recognized at the Florida Council for the Social Studies Annual Conference in October.
Eligibility:
Applicants should have no more than three years of teaching experience. If an elementary teacher, they must currently be teaching social studies. If a secondary teacher, they must teach social studies for the majority of the day. The winner must be available to attend both the annual conference and the awards celebration.
