Dear Parents/Guardians of Year 8 Students
The 2019 Year 8 camp is being run at the Mt Binga Outdoor Education Centre on 15-17 May, 2019. In order to help prepare students for the 4 week Googa Camp in Year 9, we have developed a 3 day outdoor education camp that is designed to be a "mini Googa" experience. The goal of the camp is to equip students with confidence in their ability to work as a team, basic outdoor skills and for them to develop a greater awareness of their strengths. The camp will include an overnight hike, high ropes and initiative activities, farm chores and cooking. As with any aspect of our lives, growth and development often come through experiences that stretch and challenge us. It is expected that there will be aspects of the program which will provide these opportunities for growth.
The guiding values of the Mt Binga centre expect students to:
- Show Initiative
- Repect our Environment
- Persevere
- Take Responsibility
- Challenge Themselves
- Collaborate
- Have Gratitude
- Engage in community
This camp is compulsory and it is expected that all students will remain at camp for the duration of the program.
