Pool / Spa Permit Application

Please use this one and only application for installation of a above-ground, in-ground, or storable pool, or a hot tub. Storable pools where the water depth cannot exceed 24" in depth does not require a permit.

Pool equipment, accessories and pool water's edge must be setback 10' minumum from the rear property line and the minimum side yard setback. Side yard setbacks for Woods Edge, High Meadows, Sunset Knoll and some of Greenbriar are 10′ minimum. Side setbacks for Westridge, Amity Gardens, Pleasant Meadows, Lenape Farms, Cider Mill Run, Pondview, Glenwood Estates and Far Hill Farms are 15′ minimum.

Concrete patios abutting a pool must be setback 10' minimum from side and rear property lines.

All in-ground pools must have barriers (e.g. fences) to guard against entry of smaller children into the pool area. All barriers must meet the 2015 Int'l Swimming Pool & Spa Code. If you are unsure if your proposed barrier meets the ISPSC, a drawing must be submitted with the application.

All contractors and installers performing residential improvements must provide a certificate of insurance naming Amity Township as a Certificate Holder. All contractors performing improvements on commercial buildings or new home construction must obtain an Amity Township Contractor's License. Applications are available on this website.

Once the application is received, permit processing typically takes 7-10 business days. Please check your email during this process as we may contact you for additional information that may be required or that your permit is ready for final processing. Permit fees will be due upon issuance of the permit. Permit fees can be found on the Building Department web page.

Fees for the Zoning Permit and Building Permit include the plan review and all required inspections. They are as follows:
