    Attorneys who change firms (and the firms which they are joining) confront ethical and practical quandaries. This roundtable on lawyer mobility will feature three attorneys with expertise in handling partner withdrawals and will focus on ethical requirements as well as practical considerations.

    Issues to be discussed include: rules and best practices concerning a potential lateral transfer, including conflict checks and disclosure obligations; notification to client of transfer; handling client files and materials; effect of partnership agreements; contacts with other lawyers and employees of the prior firm; and dealing with disputes that arise.
