  • Thank you for offering to volunteer with Pawprint Foundation Ltd, a 100% not-for-profit rescue dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens.  We are also one of only a small handful of rescues that specialise in neonate kittens.  Are we do all this purely on donations. 

    Volunteering can take on many forms, from helping out at fundraising events, being in a position to help teach certain required skills that foster carers may need, to fostering cats and kittens at your home.  As the rescue grows, the volunteering needs grow as well, so we are truly thankful that you are offering to help us out.  

    Please allow us at least 5 business days to process your application and respond back to you.  When we contact you, we'll be able to answer any questions you may still have about fostering with us.

  • It is great that you are interested in becomeing a foster carer.  Fostering saves lives and is VERY rewarding.  We want to ensure that we place a cat or kitten that is suitable for you and your home environment, so please read everything carefully and complete all the information.

    Pawprint Foundation Ltd tries to keep its adoption fees affordable, so we can save as many cats and kittens as possible from living on the street or from deathrow and help them find loving, forever homes.  We are happy to provide everything a foster carer needs in the way of high quality wet and dry food, litter trays, litter, bedding, bowls, toys and trees, etc.  We are also happy to provide all worming and flea treatment.  All we really need from our foster carers is their time and unconditional love for cats and kittens.  Of course, if a foster carer is able to provide some or all of this themselves, it will help us in being able to save more cats and kittens from deathrow.

    Pawprint Foundation Ltd covers the cost of all vet work including desexing, microchipping and vaccinating.  Our preferred vet is located at St Lucia, however we occassionally have to take our cats or kittens to specialists located around Brisbane.

    For your information:

    • Carers that can take at least two cats or kittens are highly desirable. 

    • Regular and quarantine foster periods are for a minimum of two weeks.

    • We can never predict how long it will take to rehome a particular cat or kitten. But we do know that every time we move a cat or kitten, the move causes it stress.  Foster carers that can care for a cat or kitten until it finds its forever home are preferred.

  • If you're already fostering for another rescue and currently have some of their animals in your care, you won't be able to be a carer for us.  

    If you currently foster for another organisation and you're interested in switching to us, you'll need to allow time for proper cleaning and, if you had cat flu or ringworm cats in your care, disinfecting of your home.

  • Declaration

    By entering my name below and submitting this form:

    1. I acknowledge that my services as a cat or kitten foster carer will be provided in a voluntary capacity and without any express or implied promise of the payment of salary, compensation, or any other payment.
    2. I acknowledge that my services will be provided without any employment-type benefits - including employment insurance, worker’s compensation, superannuation and recreation or sick leave.
    3. I accept that Pawprint Foundation Ltd may terminate my services as a foster carer at any time at its absolute discretion.
    4. I acknowledge that any foster cat or kitten placed with me is, and will always be, the property of Pawprint Foundation Ltd unless formally adopted by me.
    5. I will return, if requested, a foster cat or kitten to Pawprint Foundation Ltd within a reasonable time.  
    6. I acknowledge that Pawprint Foundation Ltd expects high standards of moral and ethical behaviour from me as a foster carer, particuarly in the treatment of the cats and kittens under my care, and I will adhere to these standards in my capacity as a foster carer. 
    7. I will not speak for or on behalf of Pawprint Foundation Ltd, unless expressly authorised to do so in writing.
    8. I will not enter into any agreements on behalf of Pawprint Foundation Ltd, unless expressly authorised to do so in writing. 
    9. I authorise Pawprint Foundation Ltd to use any photographs of me in its possession for public relations purposes.
    10. I acknowledge that the handling of cats and kittens, and other related volunteer activities, may place me in a hazardous situation and could result in injury or illness to me, or damage to my personal property.
    11. I accept a position as a volunteer foster carer for Pawprint Foundation Ltd on the terms and conditions set out in this application form.
    12. I agree to abide by the terms and conditions set out in this application form while I foster cats and kittens for Pawprint Foundation Ltd.
    13. I acknowledge that any breach by me of the terms and conditions set out in this application form may result in my being terminated as a foster carer by Pawprint Foundation Ltd.

    On behalf of myself and my heirs, personal representatives and assigns, I release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Pawprint Foundation Ltd and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all claims, causes of action and demands of any nature, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with my activities as a foster carer for Pawprint Foundation Ltd.
