  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • Do you:
  • Have your children had exposure to cats/kittens?
  • Are all family members in agreement to fostering a cat?
  • Does anyone in your family have asthma or allergies triggered by animals?
  • Which best describes your household on a daily basis
  • What type of cat are you interested in fostering? Please choose all that apply:
  • All foster cats require a separate room for a 10-14 day quarantine period. This is to ensure the safety of any resident cats and prevent the spread of possible illness. Also, different cats have different behaviours and so have different adjustment periods***. Some cats may adjust right away. Others may take at least two weeks. This can especially be true if other pets are involved. Therefore, PROPER INTRODUCTIONS must be practiced with all cats in care.

  • Do you have a separate “quarantine room” away from other pets, small children etc to allow this cat to become comfortable for the quarantine/introduction period?
  • All foster cat necessities are provided by FFR, these include: food, litter, litter box and scoop and all vetting required during care.

At no time, are any foster cats in care to be allowed outside for any reason.

You must be willing and able to care and provide stability for an animal.

You understand that all animals remain under the custodianship of Fortunate Felines and you are not permitted to destroy, give away, breed or sell an animal that has been placed in your care for foster purposes.

You are not permitted to allow anyone else to take this animal without the knowledge AND consent of the Organization

You will be responsible for the safe keeping of the foster cat(s) documentation (animal vet info booklet, adoption package, carrier mat and toys) and provide them to the adoptee with the animal at adoption

  • Are you comfortable/willing to have potential adopters visit a foster animal in your home?*
  • Weekly updates and pictures must be provided to the rescue. Are you able to commit to this?*
  • Do you understand and accept that the rescue can move your foster cat to another foster at anytime and at the rescue's discretion?*
  • Do you understand that some cats unfortunately will not survive or may have to be humanely euthanized and the decision is up to the rescue?*
  • Do you accept that Fortunate Felines Rescue makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, and/or temperament of the animal and that the Rescue group in no way can be held liable with regards to this foster placement? While the Rescue group makes every effort to place only healthy animals and temper tested animals, we cannot 100% guarantee the health or temperament of any animal and shall not be held responsible for any injuries or damage which may be incurred from the animal, we cannot guarantee the temperament and we cannot guarantee that the animal is housebroken*
  • Occasionally a foster family may have to take a foster animal to our vet to receive care. One of our directors must be notified before taking a foster animal to the vet, but you may be asked to bring the foster animal in yourself (Especially in emergency situations).

If, for any reason, you are unable to continue fostering the animal in your care, please notify the rescue as soon as possible.
