Melvin J. Reyelts was born to Claus and Anna (Rudloff) Reyelts of Britton, SD on December 12, 1912. He attended Miller No. 3 School and graduated from Britton High School in 1930. Mick, as he was known, farmed with his father for five years before moving to New Boston, IL, to marry Geneva Vashti Willits on October 27, 1935. In 1952 the family moved back to Britton where Mick farmed until he retired in 1980.
Mick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon, Trustee and Elder. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and Yelduz Shrine of Aberdeen, SD.
After his retirement, Mick took up gardening. Mick and Geneva spent the winters in Osprey, FL, at their apartment, from 1981 until 2005. Mick loved farming and was a real steward of the land.
