Emanuel Aguilar is a gallerist and independent curator living and working in Chicago, IL. In 2015 he founded PATRON, a contemporary art gallery with a focus on emerging artists and conceptual practice. Previously he was a director at Kavi Gupta Gallery in Chicago and Berlin and a founder of the arts and culture magazine Jettison Quarterly. Aguilar serves on the board of ACRE Residency.
Julia Fischbach is a director and co-founder of PATRON, contemporary art gallery with a focus on emerging artists and conceptual practice, and working in Chicago, IL. Previously she was a director at Kavi Gupta Gallery in Chicago and Berlin for seventeen years.
From the artists selected to exhibit in Home, two will be chosen for a future exhibition at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts.
REQUIREMENTS Entry Fee: $35.00 Please submit a minimum of 3/maximum of 5 jpegs, labeled with your last name and title of work. Images must be accompanied by a typed image list including artist’s first and last name, title, date, media, insurance value, and price (if work is for sale). Artists must also submit an artist statement (maximum of 500 characters).

COMMISSION – Sales are encouraged with a 35% commission benefiting Lubeznik Center (LCA). As a condition of entry, the artist grants LCA permission to reproduce entered images for publicity and education.
ELIGIBILITY The competition is open to artists, 21 years or older, nationwide. No international entries.
SHIPPING – READ CAREFULLY! – Artists are responsible for the delivery and pick up of their work. Accepted works may be hand delivered or shipped to the Lubeznik Center for the Arts, 101 W 2nd St., Michigan City, IN 46360 between May 26th and June 2nd. Early shipment must be done through communication with the curator. Shipped work arriving damaged will not be exhibited or repaired. Accepted works may not be withdrawn prior to the closing of the exhibition. All work must be ready to hang, properly wired & assembled with instructions. Absolutely no packing peanuts! Boxes, crates and even small packages containing packing peanuts will be resealed, immediately returned and eliminated from the exhibition, no exceptions. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance (during shipping) of artworks. All shipments must include a prepaid UPS OR FED EX (absolutely no USPS STAMPS) return label and be shipped in a container appropriate for re-use in return shipping.
