The purpose of the Schadt Brothers String Summer Camp Scholarship Program is to provide opportunities for young string students in the Greater Lehigh Valley Region to experience concentrated instrumental study from outstanding teachers, coaches, and conductors, in a summer educational environment with other students in their age group.
Students who audition for a scholarship will have the opportunity to apply for this scholarship every spring up to 18 years of age. Scholarship awards will be based upon artistic merit. Awards will range from $50 - $500 depending upon the price and length of the camp.
AGE: Students up to age 18 or enrolled High School students as of the date of the audition
REGION: Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks, Carbon and Monroe Counties in Pennsylvania. Warren County, New Jersey
INSTRUMENT: Students must perform on Violin, Viola, Cello or Bass
AUDITION: Students must attend and perform at their scheduled auditions. Students should perform unaccompanied.
CAMP ACCEPTANCE: Students must show an acceptance letter from the music camp of their choice to receive the scholarship award. Scholarship payment will be made directly to the educational facility.
DEADLINE: Applications for a summer camp scholarship must be submitted by Friday, April 14, 2017.

AUDITION TIME: Audition times will be scheduled though email notification by Allentown Symphony Association staff. Students will be notified in advance of their audition time. REQUIREMENTS: One short piece of your choice (max. 10 min.) Music does not need to be memorized. Music will be performed unaccompanied.
JUDGES: The auditions will be judged by Music Director, Maestra Diane Wittry of The Allentown Symphony and two members of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra.
