Thank you for your interest in Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter’s (GCAC) Debutante~Beau Program. Participants in this program are those who exemplify poise, leadership and respect within their schools and communities. GCAC’s Debutante~Beau Program fosters the educational goals of college-bound youth by giving youth who have demonstrated exemplary moral standards, school involvement and outside activities the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops. Sessions include: etiquette skills and social graces workshops, educational development and community service involvement workshops which are geared to enhance personal growth as they transition into adulthood.
If you are invited to participate, you will have the opportunity to engage in various workshops and activities that will encourage future successes. At the end of the program season, we will celebrate with a grand ball for all of your family and friends as they welcome the Debutante/Beau class as a polished, poised, and prepared member of society.
Being a Debutante/Beau requires time, work, and dedication, but will reap great rewards – which may include college scholarships and other program incentives. Before applying, please consider the following minimum requirements.
To be presented, a prospective Debutante/Beau must:
- Classify as a rising high school sophomore, junior or senior at the time the application is submitted.
- Possess a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (C) or better on a 4.0 scale.
- Exhibit high moral and ethical standards.
- Pay a non-refundable $750 Program Fee with the initial fee of $375 due by Sunday, May 21, 2023; balance of $375 due by Saturday, July 22, 2023.
- Raise a minimum of $2,500 for the souvenir booklet.
- Purchase/sell a minimum of 10 tickets to the Cotillion~Beautillion Ball.
- Attend program events, workshops, and cotillion rehearsals (outlined in Debutante~Beau calendar).
- Select a reliable escort (ages 16-19) and a parent or parent figure escort for the final cotillion. Selected escorts will be required to attend practice sessions.
If able to meet these minimum requirements, applicants are asked to do the following:
- Complete the GCAC 2019-2020 Debutante~Beau Application Packet – including essay, transcripts and recommendation forms. Incomplete packets will not be reviewed.
- Submit application on-line by May 1, 2023. Late packets will not be reviewed.
- Attend interview tentatively scheduled for Sunday, May 7, 2023.
- Letters of Acceptance will be emailed to applicants by the week of May 15, 2023.
- If accepted, mail or bring to initial program fee to the Orientation/Kick-Off session by cashier’s check or money order made payable to: Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter (GCAC).
- ALL program fees are non-refundable.
