SDB International Student/Postdoc Scholarship Application
This merit-based International Scholarship Program was established in 2015 for students and postdocs who are currently at institutions outside the United States and Canada, which are under-served in terms of support for participation in the Society for Developmental Biology Annual Meeting. This International Scholarship replaces the Latin American-Caribbean scholars program that ran from 2000-2015. SDB membership is not a requirement, but all other things being equal, preference will be given to SDB members over non-members. Candidates must be the first author of the abstract submitted for the meeting. Selection criteria for scholarships are based on: (1) scientific soundness of the study as described in the abstract; (2) financial need, including availability of other support, e.g. from the advisor and/or home institution; (3) letter of recommendation from your advisor. Each scholarship carries a cash value of $2,000 (USD), to be used to defray meeting expenses. Recipients will be notified by the end of May.
Completed International Student/Postdoc Scholarship applications must be received by April 17, 2017 (11:59 PM EDT). Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
