TALENT REQUEST - Due ASAP, No later than Sunday, March 30th

Please submit the Talent Request Information at the bottom of this form as soon as possible to reserve your talent selection. We cannot accept duplicate talents, such as two people singing the same song, dancing to the same music, or playing the same piece.

Talents will be reserved in the order they are received. You will be notified by email if your talent has been reserved for your use. If your talent choice is unavailable, you must resubmit this form with a new selection.

TALENT CHOICE

Your talent choice MUST be on the Miss America approved talents list and may not exceed 90 seconds.  Use the following link to download the complete competition rules.

TALENT RIGHTS

Once you receive confirmation that your talent has been reserved, you must submit the TALENT RIGHTS INFORMATION. We must ensure you have the rights to your music, copyrighted material, production permission release, etc.

If your performance includes music, it must be covered by ASCAP, BMI, or considered Public Domain. For music/songs not covered by ASCAP, BMI or Public Domain, you may have options to obtain the necessary rights. 

BACKGROUND TRACKS

Starting this year, ALL background music tracks MUST be "Sound-a-Like" tracks. You may NOT use original commercial tracks like those from iTunes, YouTube, etc. Even if you used a music track at a local competition, you will probably need a different track for Miss Ohio.

We have multiple sources for background tracks that are approved for our Miss Ohio State Competition.  

Before investing in any music production, you must complete and submit the Talent Rights Information form and receive approval to proceed.

SWITCHING TALENTS

If you wish to change your Talent song, music, dramatic reading piece, etc. after it's been approved, you must resubmit the Talent Request form for approval, along with Rights and Performance information.  All information will still be due late April. 

However, changing the TYPE of talent will only be permitted in extreme cases after April 5th.  

WATCH FOR APPROVAL 

As with all forms you submit online, you will receive an email copy of this form as well.  Once we approve your talent request, you will get ANOTHER email copy of this form and the bottom of the form will indicate the APPROVAL STATUS. Once you see RESERVED for the status, you can proceed to the talent rights information. 

I understand that even if my Talent Request Selection is reserved for me, this does not guarantee that I will be able to use it for the talent competition.  

I understand that I am responsible for submitting the Talent Rights Information for review and approval by the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program. 

I understand that I am prohibited from using commercially published music tracks and must use approved "Sound-a-Like" tracks.
