  • TALENT PERFORMANCE INFORMATION - Due Friday, May 16th

    Before submitting this Talent Performance Information form, you must submit AND receive an email confirmation that the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program has approved the Talent Rights Information form you submitted.

    TALENTS NOT INVOLVING SONGS/MUSIC

    If your Talent Performance does NOT include any songs/music, such as vocal or instrumental, or any background tracks for vocal, instrumental, dance, gymnastics, etc., you may proceed to complete the form below.


    TALENTS INVOLVING SONGS/MUSIC

    If your Talent Performance will include a musical background track, you must use Sound-a-Like tracks. You may NOT use any original artist commercial recording.

    We have approved and preferred sources capable of providing Sound-a-Like tracks that meet Miss Ohio's and Miss America's requirements. You may submit a purchase receipt from these sources showing the specific track and appropriate license as confirmation that you are using a Sound-a-Like track.  You will NOT need to submit a Permission Release form from these sources, as long as the track has not been altered once you receive the track from the source.  Click APPROVED AND PREFERRED SOURCES below for more details.

    If you choose to use another source for your track, you must submit a purchase receipt and a signed Permission Release form.  

    In all cases, if you or someone else alters the track in any way, you must submit a signed Permission Release form from each person involved with the alteration of the track.  Click the following link to download the Permission Release Form.

    • Here is a list of three Approved and Preferred sources for Sound-a-Like background tracks.  

      You may submit a purchase receipt from these sources showing the specific track and appropriate license as confirmation that you are using a Sound-a-Like track.       MUSICAL CREATIONS

      Licensing: Most tracks cost $4.00. To use the track for Miss Ohio or Miss Ohio's Teen, add the Music Release option for an additional $20.00.

      They have an extensive library of pre-made background tracks. For a reasonable fee, typically from $25 to $40, they can change the key and make custom edits on their track and tracks from other sources.

      If you are using two songs for your background, you must purchase both songs' licenses. 

      NOTE: They will be out of the country from May 15th to May 26th, so they will NOT be available to make track edits during this time.

       

      KAROAKE-VERSION

      Licensing: Most Custom Backing Tracks are $2.99.  To use the track for Miss Ohio or Miss Ohio's Teen, you must add the COMMERCIAL use license for an additional $69.

      They have a huge library of background tracks that can be customized online and immediately downloaded. When you visit the site, go to the "CUSTOM BACKING TRACK" in the upper left corner.

      Once you have customized the track to your liking, you may purchase the track for $2.99 and download an MP3 version.  If you are unhappy with the customization, you may change it and redownload a new version for no additional charge. 

      When you are FULLY satisfied with the track, you may return to the site, log in to your account, go to MY FILES, and there is a LICENSING OPTION next to your track.  You must purchase the COMMERCIAL USE license for an additional $69.  With the COMMERCIAL USE license, you will also get the higher quality WAV format track. 

      The customization options do not allow you to edit the length or cut out parts of the song.  If you use Karaoke-Verion as your source, you may edit the track yourself or you may contact Musical Creations to see if they will assist with editing for a reasonable fee.  Before you start editing, be sure to start with the WAV format file for the best Quality.  

      If you are using two songs for your background, you must purchase both songs' licenses.

       

      BILL WOLFE

      Licensing: Costs vary depending on the services required.

      Talent Wolfe is a complete Talent Consulting and Music Customization service. It has a very limited library of pre-made Sound-a-Like tracks since most of their work is specific to the client.

      Bill can create a track from scratch, start with one of his existing tracks, or start with a track from Musical Creations or Karaoke Version.

    • For Vocal Performance Talents, you must submit a copy of the lyrics you will be performing.  If the performance will be in another language, you must submit the lyrics in English and the language of the performance.

    • If your Talent Presentation will be a Self-Authored HerStory, Slam Poetry, etc., or a copyrighted (rights previously approved) dramatic reading, monologue, etc., you must submit a copy of the wording to be spoken onstage.

      You will submit a self-recorded video for your talent introduction on another form.    

      As a precaution, please type the introduction you recorded in the box below.  

    • You may designate a person to meet with you for five minutes between your first and second talent rehearsal.  The Miss Ohio Scholarship Program must approve this person. 

      Pageant coaches may not attend rehearsals or meet with the contestant. 

      You may change the designated person one time before June 1st. 

      If this person does not attend rehearsal, we will assign someone to meet with you.
